L'alchimista dei boschi

Ponte alle Grazie, August 2025, pp.160

Fèro Valentini was born in Tuenno, a small village in the Val di Non. He grew up among barns, woods, and fields. His grandmother taught him to care for animals with herbs—to gather them, preserve them, transform them, eat them, and use them as medicine. He worked in the mountains, doing every job imaginable. He lives in a house he built entirely by himself from salvaged materials, which looks like an alchemist’s workshop: vials, jars, vats, retorts, bottles, and distillation apparatus.

He forages wild herbs to feed himself and to supply a high‑end trade with Michelin‑starred restaurants, but also to treat himself—an ancient wisdom inherited from his mother and from the culture of his valleys.

This is Fèro Valentini’s first book, the work of a consummate expert on the forests, ancestral lore, and the mountains he calls home.
