Ape Junior

Identity

Ape Junior was founded in 1999 by Andrea Pestalozza as an imprint specialising in the preschool market with a particular focus on board books. In 2005 the company was purchased by Adriano Salani Editore, thus becoming part of the GeMS group. Ape Junior has since continued to bring to its young and very young Italian readership the best the international market has to offer: game books, board books, sticker and colouring books, jigsaw puzzles, tactile and sound books etc. Some pre-school series like “Dove sei?” (Where are you?), “Oggi sono” (Today I am…) and “Little Village” now feature an impressive range of titles and have become classics in their own right. Over the years Ape Junior has expanded its list by publishing titles via franchising arrangements with other children’s brands. Among the best-known and most successful brands covered by such collaborative international publishing ventures are LOL, Baby Shark, Alvin and Kid-e-Cats, to name but a few. Ape Junior also has a considerable presence among large-scale retailers, with paperback book series such as “Fiabe piccoline”, “Fiabe da colorare”, “Colorini”, “Libri da colorare a tema”, “Imparo in vacanza” and “Cornicette” enjoying a considerable market share.
